Happy New Year!

As as start of the new year I have made a list of cravings for 2006. I always keep a list of things I want and/or need, and here are some of the ones to come.

Short shorts

Black and white polka dot chiffon dress

Striped sweather

Ribbon to tie around the waist

Tiered skirt or dress in white or beige

Flower patterned dress

Baggy dress, either it’s girly or boyish

Suit and white shirt if you still haven’t got one

Socks, knee highs, colorful tights and leggings (all to wear with heels)

Bright summery colors like mint green, soft pink and yellow

Beige and black combo

Anything in white laces

See through dress, either it’s chiffon or laces

Nice underwear to wear under the see though dress

Platform heels

Nice flats for days with a lot of walking

Anything 60’s, even though 70’s and 80’s will work in some ways

And if you didn’t get it from the above keywords: dresses, dresses, dresses.

I’m back!

And so are the polkadots! The so loved and hated pattern was seen frequently in the spring collections. This time the polkadots are more sophisticated than ever and I bet a lot of polkadot haters will be turned around. Here from Y&Key and Kenzo.

Secondhand stores often have a good selection of cute polkadot dresses, so have a look there before going for more expencive garments.

Mix and Match

It’s fun to play around and match different garments that you wouldn’t think would look good together. For spring the designers are giving us a bit more space to play around in. Try matching different colors, different patterns and different styles. Put together an outfit like no one elses!

Kenzo, Armani, Gucci and Kenzo again.

Scorpius Scarves

Very rarely does something from Norway become trendy, and this isn’t even very Norwegian. But I read that scarves from the incence smelling store, Scorpius, is selling scarves to American celebs. I used to love this store when I was younger and I have a bag full of these scarves. Kim Catrall is one of those who had them imported from my neighbour in Grünerløkka in Oslo. I can’t really believe that these aren’t to get anywhere but here, but when celebs order them from Norway they can’t be as common as I thought..? Poor snapshot of the only two I haven’t put away for storage:

I have kind of lost interest in them since I’ve been wearing them since I was 15 and they remind me of a time when I was more interested in strange religions than fashion. I guess strange religions is the thing among celebs though, so… But if you like them, they cost about $3 if I remember correctly, and you can contact them at scorpius@scorpius.no.

Scarves all Around

Wearing a scarf is an easy and unexpencive way to update an outfit. There’s no ends to how you can wear the scarves. Here are some ideas:

Buying a designer scarf is cheaper than buying a designer outfit, and you can still get that right look. But for girls like me secondhand stores is a blessing. I have found many great silk scarves and even a couple of Chanel scarves.

Black and Beige

Black and beige hasn’t looked this good together for years!

Moschino, Dior, Camilla Staerk and Alberta Ferreti.

Flowers

Along with stripes, another pattern seen frequently on the runways was flowers. Some mixed it with other patterns, making mismatch the focal point. Other went for more feminine and simple looks. No matter what; flowers are what you should go for.

If you’d like to take it all the way, here’s a selection of flower accessories by Blugirl.

Stripes

I looks like stripes are coming in strong. The classic is navy blue or black, and white, but on the runway they came in all sorts of colors. Horizontal stripes don’t do magic for the figure though, unless you want to add weight.

Kenzo, Hermès, Armani and Moschino.

I’m looking for a black and white striped sweater…
