Dr. Zhivago

It’s time for another fashion source movie, and this time we’re having a closer look at the Russian romantic style we have this fall. What’s better then than watching a movie about romance in Russia? Get a hold of Doctor Zhivago and get that right Russian spin on your outfits.

It’s made in the 60’s so you’ll also find some inspiration for that 60’s look. You know I love killing two birds with one stone! Or by putting it a little nicer; taking two pills with one gulp.

Sixties Fashion Sources

null

The 60’s is hot right now in fashion and will continue to be at least a season longer. I find it helpful to turn to the original sources to get inspiration, that way you can be trendy without looking like everybody else.

MOVIES

A very smart and enjoyable way to do this is to watch movies. I have here picked a few good movies from the 60’s that may come in very handy these days.

Rosemary’s Baby Rosemary’s outfits are very typical for the 60’s, and the movie is also one of the best horror movies ever.

Psycho Another horror movie.

La Dolce Vita

Darling I have never seen it, but it was Julie Christine’s (see under icons) most important movie.

ICONS

Besides movies it’s also very helpful to have a look at icons from the right decade. This way you can’t go wrong. The icons you should be the most aware of in this matter are:

Catherine Deneuve

Jackie Kennedy Who will never go out of style.

Twiggy Who is just adorable.

Julie Christine As mention under the movie Darling.

Ten 70’s Movies

The 70’s came back for full this summer, and still the 70’s style is as hot as ever. That’s why I thought I’d make a list of a few good movies from this awsome decade to use as inspiration before you start shopping for your fall wardrobe. Most of these movies I suggest cause I think they’re good, not cause they contain that much fashion. But if you pay attention, there are also many good (and bad) outfits to spot.

Godfather

  1. Harold & Maude
  2. The Godfather, part I
  3. Deer Hunter
  4. Taxi Driver
  5. The Tenant
  6. The Exorcist
  7. Jaws
  8. Manhattan
  9. Serpico
  10. Hair
