Hair like the Celebs

I am very lazy when it comes to my hair. I usually wear it straight and have my boyfriend cut it when it needs. I came across explainations for how to copy some of the best hairstyles this fall in Swedish Aftonbladet. From now on I’m going to make a little more out of it.

Jennifer Lopez

Part your hair along the middle and make two loose braids. Pin them up on the top of your hair with a few pins. It doesn’t have to look perfect, it’s even nicer when it looks a little messy.

Ashley Olsen

Make a braid across the front of your head by starting at one end and adding more hair as you make the braid. Fasten it with a hair pin to the side behind your ear.

Hillary Duff

For this you will need a head band of some sort. If you don’t have one a scarf or ribbon will do just fine. From the top of your head to the back use a comb and comb your hair the wrong way so that you get lots of volume. Fasten with pins in the back so that it stays up. Pull some of the hair in front to the side and behind your ear. Put on the headband. This look is so right for all the 60’s inspired clothes we see these days.

Scorpius Scarves

Very rarely does something from Norway become trendy, and this isn’t even very Norwegian. But I read that scarves from the incence smelling store, Scorpius, is selling scarves to American celebs. I used to love this store when I was younger and I have a bag full of these scarves. Kim Catrall is one of those who had them imported from my neighbour in Grünerløkka in Oslo. I can’t really believe that these aren’t to get anywhere but here, but when celebs order them from Norway they can’t be as common as I thought..? Poor snapshot of the only two I haven’t put away for storage:

I have kind of lost interest in them since I’ve been wearing them since I was 15 and they remind me of a time when I was more interested in strange religions than fashion. I guess strange religions is the thing among celebs though, so… But if you like them, they cost about $3 if I remember correctly, and you can contact them at scorpius@scorpius.no.

Grace Kelly

Get inspired by one of the biggest icons of all times, Grace Kelly. Copying her style will never go wrong. Here follows a list of must-haves to get her look.

Head scarf Gives you the diva look in no time.

Sunglasses They have to be glamorous.

Cardigan Choose soft cashmere or anything that looks expencive and ladylike.

Crocodile bag Most preferably the Hèrmes Crocodile Kelly Bag, but if you haven’t got the cash, fake it.

Fur stola Either faux if you prefer that, or the real thing. It at least has to look real.

Rhinestones Diamonds are the best, but if you can’t afford that, have a look through your local secondhand store. They are usually found quite cheap.

Pearls One pearl necklace will do it, but there’s no way you can have too many.

Gloves No diva without gloves.

Hot rollers The hair has to be perfect.

Glamorous dress A black dress will do fine, but get one with a nice full skirt.

Skirt suit A must in any divas wardrobe.

Too broke to get the look? You can always play around with these Grace Kelly paperdolls.

The Cap and Kate

The cap is an important accessory this fall, and it comes in many shapes and colors, but for the best look get one in earthy or grey tones. Kate Moss has already been seen sporting hers.

Smelly Feet

What is the thing about wearing warm boots in hot summer days? Sienna Miller, Chloe Sevigny, Kate Moss, all of them have been seen walking around in bug lumps on their feet…

First of all I don’t think it’s very flattering. Secondly, isn’t it a pain to constantly feel like you’re feet are burning up? I get the whole suffering for beauty thing, but where are the priorities? I’d rather suffer my self through high heels than sweatty feet. And thirdly, won’t it smell? I guess, after wearing Uggs or whatever for a whole summer day, you won’t be taking them off with company. That excludes bringing that hot guy you meet home for the night…

At least my winter boots are staying in my closet until it’s cold enough to wear a jacket.

Chloe Sevigny?

I see Chloe Sevigny ranking high on best dressed celebrity lists all the time, but I seldom see why. She hits the target once in a while, but in my opinion she misses even more. Her weird taste in accessories, her just-got-out-of-bed hair and those unflattering choises of garments. I’ll give her credit for being original; perhaps that’s the most important thing. And maybe I’m being unfair; but are these her best moments?

Sienna Miller goes 70’s

Even though I cannot always understand the fuzz about Sienna Miller (some of her outfits are down right dull) she sometimes gets it oh so right. Here are a couple of photos of her sporting a 70’s look. Never has the 70’s looked as fresh as this.
