To Ugg or not to Ugg
There is a lot of talk about the Ugg boots, some love them and some hate them. I have never been a fan and never owned a pair. If your excuse is to keep your feet warm you can do it the real way. Nesnalobben is a shoe from my tiny little hometown Nesna in Northern Norway. They’re made of wool and have been worn for decades. They are the best out there for cold days and cold feet. They have even been seen in fashion shows and fashion spreads. I’ll admit they’re not any smaller or less lumpy than the Ugg boots, but they do keep your feet warm.
“Letters we have recieved from users of wool felt boots in Alaska insist that Nesnalobben is the warmest foot wear for outdoor activities in the extremely cold climate.”

I think they’re kind of cute, but that might be because I grew up with them.

I swore I would never own a pair of ugg-like books, but when I tried my first pair on I had to buy them. They are sooo comfortable and perfect to run around the house in or ouside. Now I don’t go shopping or anything in these. Not my thing. I’m always up for supporting smaller businesses and those look pretty cool.

These are soooooo cute!
Ugg boots are from Australia so I grew up with them. Here - before they became international fashion icons - they were shoes you wore INDOORS in winter. The white trash (we call them bogans) would sometimes wear them to the corner store. So to me that’s what they are, and I am repulsed by people wearing them in the street, especially in summer! I can’t even wear them in winter at home now - but I know all my Aussie friends in Europe love them because they are so soft and warm, which is fair enough.

I’ll admit I’ve never even tried on a pair, so I maybe I’d have changed my mind if they are as comfortable as you guys say. :) But I’d wear my Nesnalobbs for outside. They are much cheaper than Ugg boots as well.

I do hate the uggs too–these are much cuter, and they look toasty warm! Of course, I cant resist the little tiny kiddie ones…just darling!!

Hehe, yes we must have been commenting on each others blogs at the same time! I’m surprised to hear that you guys think they are cute as well! :) I thought my opinion wasn’t quite good since I’m not impartial. Maybe I should let the factory know they should go for making these the next Uggs! ;)

Yey! :) I saw some dancers on that “royal” TV2-show from Spektrum wearing Nesnalobbs. I imagine they’re not so great to dance in…

You’re probably right Silje, but I love to see that people are wearing them! :)

“Ugg” is just shorthand for ugly. All the girls on my campus wear the Uggs. A stranger to my school would think the campus had been taken over by Little Big Foots. I hate Uggs so much I had to write a song about them. Here’s the link: http://shangrilaw.blogspot.com/2005/12/ugg-ly-song.html

They are not real cute to my eye.
But if they are warm enough, who cares?
Comfort is cute.

When it’s really really cold outside, it’s hard to care about looks. :)
