The Book Clutch

This is a classic DIY project, and hardly my own idea. But it’s really simple to make, costs nearly nothing and turns out really cool. There are tons of different ways of doing this, but I decided to keep it simple:

To make this you need an old book, the best is a really fat one. Find one with a funny cover or a classic one with leather like mine. You also need a ribbon, some glue and a piece of fabric in matching color. First of all you have to rip out the inside of the book. Then you cut the fabric to fit the purse. It’s easy to do if you cut it in four pieces: One for each side, and one for each end in the with you want the clutch to open. While you glue it on you also have to think about glueing the ribbons, cause these make sure you can keep the clutch closed. This is all there is to it.

You can of course be a little more creative than me and make the most glamourous clutches all covered with nice fabrics and pearls or something. But this is the basic. There’s no limits from here.

Imagine wearing the book clutch to this librarian look from Alexander McQueen:

Fall for Shoes

Most of you have maybe bought shoes for this fall, but for those of you that haven’t here’s a few tips. This falls shoes are most preferably brown and round toed boots. This can get a little expencive, at least when buying real leather. An easy cheap fix is faux leather copies, but my advice is to put a little extra money in your shoes. It doesn’t have to be designer shoes, that’s too expencive for most of us. But make sure it’s leather. Leather wears well and you can use them year after year. As while faux will look bad after just a few walks around the bloc.

Here are some of my favorite trends in shoes this fall:

These are my absolute favorites by Burberry. If you really want to get it right this fall, invest in a nice pair of knock offs. You can find it at Bianco among others.
