Reversable Handbag
I saw these reversable handbags made out of vintage fabrics in a store once. I just adored them, but they were a bit pricy for me. So I decided to make my own. I got a hold of some very cheap left over vintage fabrics, see through plastic tubes (found in any hard ware store) and some kind of curtain ropes. Then I started sewing. I thought I’d share the result with you, so that you also can make this simple and cheap handbag.

You just cut out four pieces in two kinds of fabrics that you like. After you have figured out how to put them together to make it reversable, sew them together. Cut two pieces of the plastic tubes in wanted length, put the ropes inside (or some other fancy decor) and fasten together the tube ends after putting them inside the purse fabric. This part was a little tricky, but with some trying and failing it’ll work. And just like that you have a handbag for the cost of around $ 4. If there’s any interest I can put together a tutorial for you, just let me know.
A tutorial is now posted here.

DIY Fashion
I am feeling a little bit better about life, as all of those I know have escaped New Orleans, and I am just about burned out of watching the mass destruction on the telly. So I am back to thinking…

This is wonderful, I can see myself using strands of chunky beads in place of the plastic tubes. You have an awsome blog!
