Fashion Scrapbook

I have a storage problem, I also like to keep things close for reach and as many of you probably also do: I read fashion magazines. The problem is that I cannot keep all the magazines due to my small apartment. My solution has been to cut out all the things I like, from commercials and celeb photos to fashion shoots and product photos. All these cut outs I put in to my fashion scrapbook. This way I have a great source when I’m going shopping, when I’m out of ideas for what to wear or when I’m just bored and need something to flip through. This is a smart idea for any fashion addict.

I also keep two seperate books for organizing my fashion ideas: One is a book where I draw and write down all the ideas I get of smart outfits and details and stuff I can make my self. I keep this book extra close with me when I go travelling or I go to flea markets and see things I easily can make or do. The other is a book where I keep a list of all the things I crave for. When my birthday is coming up I can check this book and give hints to my friends or boyfriend. It’s also comes in very handy when I go shopping.

If you haven’t already got scrapbooks like these, go buy some cheap notebooks and put your very own decor on them for that personal look. These books will in the end save you from some shopping mistakes and bad birthday gifts. I only wish my mom had done the same, cause it would be so much fun to flip through whatever she thought was hot 25 years ago. At least I’ll save them for my children.

Old Ladies vs. Old Men

Last year I was secretly looking at old ladies for fashions tips. With the lady-like style we had last fall, 70 year old women were suddenly kind of trendy. Skirt-suits, hats, crocodile bags, buttoned up shirts… It was all very correct.

Some of it is still lingering, but this year I find my self looking at their husbands instead. This falls androgunous style turns them in to fashion sources.
